Whether young or old - the zoo in the east of Berlin is an exciting destination for everyone, because it offers more than many other zoos. Visit the zoo

The zoo is only around 60 years old, but it is still unique: more than 9,000 animals and a total of 800 different species can be discovered here. A zoo railway helps - you can use it to explore 4 kilometres of the huge grounds. The zoo not only has a predator house, but also special enclosures for monkeys, crocodiles and native animals such as deer. If you want, you can pet lemurs in the morning or visit the kangaroos in the afternoon, because their enclosure is accessible. You can also be present at the feedings - these are even commented, for example with the polar bears, penguins and giraffes. In the zoo, you can also watch how African elephants are bred. With so much amazement, your stomach will growl at some point. You can choose between South American specialities from the Churrasco Grill, Italian pasta from the bistro or a pretzel.

Driving to the zoo and parking facilities

By car, it's about 9 to 18 km to the zoo, depending on where you start in Berlin. The journey takes between 30 minutes and an hour. From the zoological garden, it takes about 50 minutes - first, drive through the zoo along Straße des 17. Juni in the direction of Alex and then turn onto Frankfurter Allee. From Kreuzberg and Tempelhof you can also take the city motorway A100 and later turn towards Lichtenberg. When you see the Tierpark underground station, you have reached your destination. At the Tierpark, you will find many parking options at both main entrances, north and south of the Tierpark underground station. The most frequently used entrance at the Bärenschaufenster has the address Am Tierpark 125 in 10319 Berlin. You can also park at the entrance to the palace - the address is: Am Tierpark 49.
