From Cologne to Brühl Palace and back
Strictly speaking, Brühl Palace consists of two castles, the Augustusburg Brühl Palace and the Falkenlust Palace. Both are connected by a huge palace park and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With a SHARE NOW car, you can be there in just under half an hour from Cologne.
What to expect at the Brühl palaces
Augustusburg Palace was built in the Rococo style and is considered one of the most important buildings of its time. If you stroll through the palace park from here, you will soon reach Falkenlust Palace, which was built in the classical baroque style and has been lovingly preserved to this day. It is definitely worth the short journey from Cologne to visit the richly decorated chambers of the two magnificent palaces. After the visit, you can take a walk through the huge park grounds and gardens – dogs are also allowed, by the way. Entrance fees and opening hours are slightly different for both palaces. At Augustusburg Palace, the entrance fee for adults is 9 € (reduced 7,50 €). Pupils and students pay only 5 € and families with the family ticket 20 €. The visit is only possible in connection with a guided tour, which is included in the entrance fee. The so-called "Grand Guided Tour" is also available for an extra charge. In 1.5 hours, all 18 state rooms are shown and explained. Admission to Falkenlust Palace is 7 € (reduced 5,50 €) for adults, 4 € for pupils and students or 15 € for a family ticket. Falkenlust Palace can also be visited without a guided tour. However, if you prefer, you can book an additional guided tour in advance. The palaces are open on Fridays from 9AM to 4PM and Saturdays to Sundays from 10AM to 5PM, and closed on the remaining weekdays. The opening hours of the castle park vary depending on the season. All information about Brühl Palace and its opening hours can be found on their website.
