The Lüneburger Heide Wildlife Park is one of the biggest zoos in Germany and a year-round adventure for young and old. More than 1,200 animals and 140 animal species live here in the natural Nordheide heath. You can find all of Germany’s wildlife species, as well as others from north Asia and America. With bison, red deer, pheasants, wild pigeons, and even wolves, the wildlife park is a family adventure with lots of activities to offer. Depending on the season, there are also various shows. In the petting zoo and outdoor enclosure, you and your children can be in direct contact with the animals. How does alpaca wool feel? Have you ever stroked a Heidschnucke (German moorland sheep)? The ponies and Poitou donkeys are great for children. At the right time of year, the giant playground, water playground, and events such as children’s parties, the holiday program, and other events, are also especially exciting at the Lüneburger Heide Wildlife Park. For small and large groups there’s an entertaining and educational Wildpark-Rallye, and a knowledge quiz for three different age groups. Why not celebrate your child’s birthday at the Lüneburger Heide Wildlife Park! A birthday adventure for children from the age of four with a variety of birthday offers. Treasure hunts in the wildlife park, a native Indian party, animal detective or being a junior animal keeper for a day - one of these many seasonal offers is sure to be just right for your child and their friends.

After lots of fresh air and exercise, you’re sure to be very hungry. Fortunately, there are snack bars and restaurants for every taste throughout the park. Here you can find homey food, snacks, chips, burgers, pretzels, dumplings, ice cream, crepes, and much more. As well as walking around one of the many possible routes through the park, you can also do a guided tour for various themes and group sizes, similar to those at the Hamburg Zoo.
