The Timmendorfer Strand Baltic Sea spa is the perfect opportunity to bring together a variety of interests. The sports beach and the family-friendly beach with piers offer a great view in any weather. Relax in the wicker beach chairs and enjoy the soft white sand. If that’s not enough activity for you, beach volleyball, swimming and (in cooler weather) the heated indoor seawater pool in Niendorf offer lots of sporting activities. Choose between swimming and snorkelling training sessions, diving courses, surfing, and catamaran and sailing courses. Lessons and activities can also be found at the 18-hole golf course and riding arena. When you eventually get hungry, the restaurants and snack bars along Strandallee invite you to rest for a while. Just a few minutes away, on the Brodtener Steilufer, there is an adventure cafe. For an underwater view without getting wet, the Sealife centre - a 1,500 square metres large facility with aquarium showcasing the local and tropical water world - is ideal all year round. Otters, tropical fish, turtles, rays and piranhas can regularly be observed at feeding times. The touch tanks, where you can get close to a variety of animals, are especially popular with children.
Holidays on your doorstep
During the summer months, a passenger ship departs from the piers to the neighbouring Baltic sea resorts and goes out into the Baltic sea. On land, the old and new spa gardens entice you with their beautiful population of trees, a listed wellness hall and a gallery with changing exhibitions. You can also play outdoor chess and mini golf or visit the popular Seepferdchenbrunnen in the centre of the new spa park. A few kilometres to the north is Hansapark, which offers fun and action for the whole family during the season. Roller coasters, water rides and shows for the whole family make it a worthwhile destination.
