CAR-SHARING FOR THE MOMENT
How free-floating car-sharing works
The free-floating car-sharing model is what SHARE NOW is most famous for pioneering. In most of our cities, there are no rental stations. Instead, our car-sharing service operates out of a large Home Area where you find cars, start trips and park on the streets for free. You may leave the Home Area at any time, but you must drive back to the same Home Area when you're done.
1. Find a car
We don't do rental stations! Our cars are available 24/7 and free-float all around the Home Area. Use the SHARE NOW app to find an available car near you. Reserve the car to make it yours — and start walking over!
2. Unlock the car
Once you're at the car, unlock it with a push of a button in the SHARE NOW app. Choose a minute, hourly, or daily rate that meets your needs — then start your trip! You can drive outside the Home Area and any fueling costs are on us.
3. Drop off anywhere
Simply end your trip anywhere in the Home Area — no cumbersome drop off procedures, no refueling required! Public street parking in the Home Area is for free⁴.

How pre-booked car-sharing works
For longer trips when you want to venture a little further outside one of our cities, you can order a SHARE NOW car to your doorstep by pre-booking it online or via the app. Perfect for trips up to 30 days, you can customise your trip with perks such as extra coverage or an additional driver option when you pre-book. You can still drop off the car on any street in the Home Area at the end of your trip.
1. Pre-book your car
Book a car right here or in the app. Tell us when and where you want your car – and we'll take care of the rest. No paperwork, no queues, no car rental stations!
2. Hop in when it arrives
When the day comes, the car will be delivered to your requested pick-up spot. Just hop in with your luggage and loved ones — and go. Long-term car rentals have never been easier.
3. Drop it off anywhere
Roam freely outside the Home Area for up to 30 days. When you're done, simply drop off the car on any street in the Home Area. No need to refuel or return the car!
Car-sharing-with-stations
How station-based car-sharing works
In order to bring car-sharing to a wider range of people at an attractive price point, some SHARE NOW cities offer station-based car-sharing. You'll have access to hundreds of premium cars without the hassle of actually owning one. Reserve a car via the app and head over to its Home Station to unlock it with your smartphone. Simply return to the same Home Station at the end of your trip to drop off your car.
1. Reserve a car
Book a car via the SHARE NOW app. Tell us when and where you want to pick up your car and we'll reserve one for you.
2. Pick up at the station
Your car will be waiting for you at the station you selected. Just head over there and unlock it with your smartphone. It's that simple!
3. Return to the station
When you're done, return to the same station to drop off the car. No complicated drop-off procedures, just use your smartphone to end your trip.
