SHARE NOW, Europe's market leader and pioneer in free-floating car-sharing, welcomes the introduction of new exclusive car-sharing spaces created by the Mobility Department of the City of Munich. This expansion supports the vision of shared mobility and multimodality in the state capital. It offers the approximately 2.1 million SHARE NOW customers in Germany and the roughly 320,000 Munich customers new and improved opportunities to conveniently and flexibly integrate SHARE NOW into their everyday lives.
150 new parking spaces deployed across the board at 25 mobility points
Car-sharing users already have access to 150 newly installed parking spaces. These are distributed across a total of 25 mobility points throughout the city, which is essential for a well-functioning, free-floating car-sharing service and the availability of vehicles. By 2026, the City of Munich plans to build 1,000 parking spaces at an additional 200 mobility points to provide citizens with even more accessible access to the wide range of shared mobility options. The mobility points simplify use by bundling various mobility offerings and making it easier for car-sharing users to find a parking space.
"The launch of the new parking spaces in Munich is an important step in transforming mobility in urban areas," explains Brigitte Courtehoux, CEO of SHARE NOW and Free2move. "To expand our offering and make it accessible to all, it is essential that cities support shared mobility concepts. Partnerships, such as the one with the City of Munich, are critical to sustainable solutions that can improve urban mobility and overall quality of life in urban areas. We are delighted with the consistently successful collaboration.”
SHARE NOW with a presence at the Mobility Congress in Munich
For the introduction of the new mobility points, SHARE NOW will participate in the presentation of the new mobility points Westenriederstraße (Isartor), Georg-Freundorfer-Platz Westendstraße and Heimeranplatz with the exhibition of vehicles during the mobility congress (03.-05.09.). The new mobility points are now available to all SHARE NOW customers. Visitors to the IAA Mobility can also use the trade fair mobility point on Olof-Palme-Strasse to be flexibly and independently mobile at any time of day.
