How far can I drive with an electric car?

Fully charged, our electric cars can drive up to 339 km, based on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Duty Vehicles Test Procedure. In short, WLTP. The range of an electric vehicle depends on weather conditions and driving style. In cold weather and at highway speeds, the battery is drained significantly faster.

MINI Electric: Up to 234 km
BMW i3: Up to 308 km
Fiat 500e: Up to 320 km
Peugeot e-208: Up to 339 km

The battery level will be displayed in the app and/or in the car. Please bear in mind that there may be far between charging stations outside the Home Area.

  • To unlock the doors, tap Unlock car. You might need to reactivate the car engine in the app to continue driving.

Can I travel with SHARE NOW cars to another country?

Yes. When you rent a SHARE NOW in Denmark, you can cross the border to Sweden and Germany at no additional cost and enjoy a trip to our beautiful neighbouring countries.

If you're planning such a trip, here are some things to keep in mind:

For both countries

  • Important: Remember to bring your physical driver's license when driving outside Denmark's borders.
  • To find charging stations where you can charge for free, use the E.ON Drive app. Make sure to activate the view of roaming stations in the E.ON Drive app: All filtres > Additional filters > Roaming stations
  • You are responsible for road tolls any ferry crossings or similar expenses that are not directly related to your rental.
  • Pay attention to the number of kilometres included in your rate. The number is provided during your purchase.

For Sweden 🇸🇪

  • Our cars are registered for number plate payment at the Storebælt Bridge. Learn more here.
  • ⚠️ Eco Sticker: To drive into the city centers of many major cities in Germany, it's required that the car is equipped with an Eco Sticker, also known as environmental badge. The requirement for an environmental badge applies to both petrol and electric cars. However, if you're only planning to drive on the motorways in Germany, an environmental badge is not required.
  • ⚠️ German Parking Disc: Our automatic parking disc is not valid in Germany. Therefore, you need to print a German parking disc, which should be placed in the car during your trip. Leave the automatic parking disc in place but cover it with a piece of paper, so that only one parking disc is visible from the outside.

If you experience any issues with the car during your trip, are involved in an accident, or need assistance in any way, please contact our customer centre through the app.

To see these additional fees, simply tap on a rate or package in the app. Detailed pricing information will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Do I have to pay the toll costs?

There may be specific rules regarding the toll fees you need to pay when renting a SHARE NOW in another country. Please refer to the FAQ section of the respective country for more information.

Can I book a car in advance?

Yes, you can!

With pre-booking, you decide exactly where and when you want your car. We'll bring your pre-booked car to within a 10 minute walking distance (approx. 600m) of your requested pick-up address — within the Home Area, of course! The car will be reserved for you in the app 1 hour before and 1 hour after your selected start time.

You can pre-book a car up to 90 days before you need it. Pre-booking is exclusively available for car category XS, S, and M long term rentals from 1 day and up.

Please note: Pre-booking may be sold out at any time.

Can I drive to another city?

Yes. You can drive outside of the Copenhagen Home Area to other cities, but you must drive the car back to the Home Area to end your trip.

If you rent a SHARE NOW in Denmark, you're also allowed to take the car to Sweden and Germany. You still need to return the car to the Home Area in Denmark to end your trip.

Can I park my car at charging stations?

You can park the car at most charging stations if the car is charging, but you can't always end your trip there.

Denmark
You can park at any of our charging partners, but you can only end your trip inside the Home Area. At some charging stations, e.g. Lüders parking garage in Nordhavn, it is only allowed to park if the car is charging at the same time. At other stations, e.g. P-hus Ejler Bille in Ørestad, you're only allowed to park the car at selected spots. Always make sure to follow local signage when you park.

We encourage you to charge the car when parking at a charging station, even if it's not mandatory. This way, the charging network can be utilised most efficiently.

Austria
In Vienna, it is not allowed to end your trip at the SMATRICS charging stations. We recommend only parking at these stations during a stopover (it is allowed to use these charging stations only while a car is charging). See parking rules in Vienna

France
In Paris, it is only allowed to end your trip at the Belib' charging poles if the car is actively charging. See parking rules in Paris

Germany
Yes. It is allowed to park and end your trip at all our partner charging stations if a car is correctly plugged in and charging. See parking rules for Germany.

Italy
Yes. It is allowed to park and end your trip at all our BeCharge and Enel X partner charging stations in Milan if a car is correctly plugged in and charging. See parking rules in Milan

Netherlands

Spain
In Madrid, it is only allowed to end your trip at the charging hubs if the car is actively charging. See parking rules in Madrid

Hint: To earn credit, please make sure to end your trip after the car has started charging!

How do I charge an electric car?

Charging an electric car is safe and simple. With SHARE NOW, you can charge at any E.ON, Clever, Spirii, and IONITY charging station in Denmark. If you're in Sweden or Germany and need to charge, we refer to the E.ON Drive app.

How to charge an electric car

  1. Take the charging cable from the boot of the car.
  2. Open the car's charging port with a gentle tap and plug in the cable. The charging port is located above the rear wheel.
  3. There is a chip in the plug of the charging cable. Scan the plug on the top, front or side of the charging station to activate charging, then plug in the cable.
  4. The car is charging when the lights around the car's charging port light up.

Standing next to a fast charger? The charging process at these stations are a bit different. Learn more here.

Hint: Each time you fully charge a car that has less than 30% battery level, you earn 30 kr. in SHARE NOW credit. If the car has less than 15%, you can earn as much as 60 kr. in SHARE NOW credit. This will be used to pay for your trips and trip related costs. Credit can only be earned on trips that are paid via your personal payment profile.

Please note: If the battery level is below 5%, you're obligated to charge the car (if the circumstances allow it)
