Can I reserve a car in advance?

Yes. Using the SHARE NOW app, you can reserve a car for free for 20 minutes once in 2 hours. If you need more time of reservation, you can extend the reservation in the app, to a maximum of 8 hours, every 15 minutes costs 300 Ft.

If the 20 minutes of reservation has expired, or you cancel it before expiration, you can reserve it right away for a fee of 300 Ft for every 15 minutes.

How do I rent keyless cars?

Our BMW, MINI, Mercedes, Peugeot and Opel cars are keyless, meaning you don't need a car key to unlock the car or start the engine. These cars use Start/Stop buttons instead.

Here's how it works:

  1. Locate a car near you using the app.
  2. Tap 'Reserve' and make it yours.
  3. When you're at the car, tap 'Start' in the app.
  4. Use Face-ID or enter your 4-digit PIN.
  5. The car unlocks automatically.
  6. To start the engine, press the Start/Stop button.
  7. Arrived at your destination? End the trip via the app.
How do I rent cars with car keys?

The Fiat, Mercedes and Peugeot models have car keys.

Here's how it works:

  1. Locate a car near you using the app.
  2. Tap 'Reserve' and make it yours.
  3. When you're at the car, tap 'Start' in the app.
  4. Use Face-ID or enter your 4-digit PIN.
  5. You'll find the car key in the glove compartment.
  6. Arrived at your destination? Place the key back into the holder.
  7. End the trip via the app.
What does the Daycap service mean?

You can rent SHARE NOW cars for up to 3 days. If your plans change and the time you chose at the beginning of your rental is still not enough, we will automatically extend your rental by one extra day, only if this would make your rental lower than the overrun minutes.  
It includes 0 km per day, with the extra kilometres also charged at 99 Ft/km. The corresponding pricing can be found in the Fee and Cost policy.

How do I report damages on a car?

You can report damages on a car directly in the SHARE NOW app. There should be a history of all reported damages for each car. Besides reporting damages, it is also necessary to take four pictures of the car before and after your trip. This will prove if any damage occurred before your rental or that a subsequent damage occurred after it.

Here's how to report damages:

  1. Book the car in the SAHRE NOW app.
  2. Click on "REPORT DAMAGE".
  3. Press the "REPORT NEW DAMAGE" button.
  4. Determine which part of the car is damaged.
  5. Take one close-up and one wider shot to show the extent of the damage in context (please make sure that the license plate is visible on the wider shot)
  6. Press the "REPORT DAMAGE" button.

What should I do if the engine doesn’t start?

Relax. In most cases, there’s nothing wrong with the car. As a safety measure, we remotely lock the engine so that the car can’t be driven off while you’re away. When you’re ready to drive again, simply unlock the engine via the app. If that doesn’t work, remove the car key from ignition and try again.

Where can I park and end my trip?

To end the trip, you need to be inside the Home Area. The Home Area is our operative area, in which SHARE NOW cars free-float around the city. You can park for free on any legal public street parking space within this area. It's possible to park and end your trip in drop off zones outside the city in your Home Area, but a drop off fee will apply.

Can I drive to another city?

Yes. You can drive outside of the Home Area to other cities, but you must drive the car back to the same Home Area to end your trip. You may not leave the country with SHARE NOW cars. You can always see the Home Area clearly outlined in the SHARE NOW app.

At which airports can I use SHARE NOW?
Can I travel with SHARE NOW cars to another country?

Unfortunately, international travels are not allowed for SHARE NOW cars in Hungary. Leaving the country will result in a fine. You may leave the Home Area temporarily to visit other cities within the country as long as you start and end your trip in the same Home Area.

Can I use SHARE NOW to roam in different countries?

Yes. You're not allowed to drive our cars across national borders, but you can use your SHARE NOW account to drive in all our European cities. Simply accept the terms and conditions of the country in the app before your first drive there.

Why do I get an error message saying my phone does not meet the minimum security requirements to rent BMW and MINI cars?

BMW and MINI cars come with a proprietary system that automatically screens any device that tries to connect with them. There are a number of possible reasons why your phone is being rejected:

  • If there are 2 separate SHARE NOW applications running on your phone (i.e. app cloning)
  • If Xposed Framework is installed on your phone
  • If the system suspects your phone has been rooted or jailbroken
  • If the system detects that Magisk is installed
  • If your phone fails the Google SafetyNet test

In case you're one of those full-time pros, these reasons may apply:

  • If the system detects that you're using an emulator (i.e. a virtual phone run on a computer)
  • If the SHARE NOW app is being debugged (i.e. if the phone has been connected to a computer to see what code is running in the app)
  • If the SHARE NOW app has been tampered with (i.e. if someone has tried to take apart the app to change something)

We understand this isn't great news, but you can still rent any of our other Mercedes-Benz and Fiat models.

Do I need to refuel or charge SHARE NOW cars after each trip?

No. We don't expect you to refuel or charge our cars when you're done. However, if you need to refuel or charge the car, you can simply use the fuel cards or charge card provided inside the car. You can use this card at partner stations to refuel or charge for free.

If you end your trip in an electric vehicle with less than 15 kilometres' worth of battery power (unless permitted by the General Terms and Conditions) or a vehicle with a combustion engine with less than 15 kilometres' worth of fuel, a fee may be charged. Hint: To earn charging credit, please make sure to end your trip after the car has started charging!

Can I book a car in advance?

Yes, you can, when you choose daily packages.

When prebooking, you are only able to choose a car category, not the specific model. We'll bring your pre-booked car to within walking distance of your requested pick-up address — within the Home Area, of course!

The prebooking fee is 3 990 Ft and you decide where and when exactly you want your car.

What should I do if I've had an accident?

Oh no! We hope everything is alright. Dial 110 immediately and wait until the accident has been processed by the police. Also, call Customer Support to inform us about the accident. Our hotline number can be found in the app.

Can I park the car in an underground garage with no internet connection?

Sure. Ultimately, you only need a working internet connection to start and end your trip. Stopovers are no problem at all. If you make a stopover, just keep your smartphone on you – and you'll have nothing to worry about.

Here's how to unlock the car:

Stand near the car and use the SHARE NOW app to unlock the car via Bluetooth. Start the engine once you're in the car.

What do the red % marks above the cars on the map mean?

Discounted cars are marked by %, and you can drive them at up to 20% off. If you have a SHARE NOW Pass, you can combine this discount with the 25% discount.
