SHARE NOW Opens Car-Sharing Parking Spots at New Sustainable Mobility Platform “Canalejas 360”

  • The City of Madrid opens a new space for shared mobility in Parking Centro Canalejas, just 100 meters from Puerta del Sol

  • Five dedicated car-sharing parking spots are reserved for the 318,000 users of SHARE NOW

  • No extra costs and easy access without parking ticket for car-sharing customers

With today's opening of the sustainable mobility platform “Canalejas 360”, the recent parking garage opened by EMT, the City of Madrid is giving car-sharing a special place. Just 100 meters from the heart of the city, Puerta del Sol, SHARE NOW customers now have access, at no extra cost, to five exclusive car-sharing parking spaces on the first floor of Parking Centro Canalejas as of today. A quarter of the dedicated car-sharing parking spaces at the sustainable mobility platform are thus reserved for the 318.000 SHARE NOW customers.

“With Canalejas 360, the City of Madrid is once again sending a strong signal for sustainable and shared mobility. The new sustainable mobility platform grants thousands of people easy access to zero emissions car-sharing - right in the heart of Madrid”, says David Bartolomé, Managing Director of SHARE NOW in Spain. “Madrid shows how simple it is to integrate shared mobility into our cities and the everyday lives of their citizens. This openness is a key driver for the shift from owning to sharing, taking action against climate change and heading to a more sustainable future.”

No Parking Ticket Needed

For car-sharing users the new sustainable mobility platform means not only shorter distances to the center of Madrid, but also an increased flexibility in their choice of mobility. At the same time, the use of car-sharing remains as easy as ever, since no parking ticket is required to use the parking spaces. In addition, the new parking spots will be visible in the SHARE NOW app.

The seamless integration of car-sharing with central Madrid is an important step for the expansion of shared and sustainable mobility. A goal that also follows SHARE NOW by providing easy access to flexible mobility in 16 cities in eight European countries. In Madrid, the company currently operates a fleet of 600 cars and serves 318,000 customers.
